Olympic star Chloe Kim is going to be taking some time away from competitive snowboarding.

Kim won a gold medal in the halfpipe event at the 2022 Winter Olympics earlier this year. Although she’s currently at the top of her game, she’s going to be taking a break.

The two-time gold medalist said last week that she’s taking a full season off to focus on her mental health.

“I will be taking a full season off of competition just for my mental health,” Kim said on Cheddar News last week. “Just want to reset. Don’t want to get right back into after such a fun but draining year at the same time.”

The good news for Chloe Kim fans is she’s not walking away from competitive snowboarding forever. Kim is reportedly committed to competing in the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy.

“I just want to enjoy this moment, take it all in and then get back to it when I feel like I’m ready,” she said, via TMZ Sports.

“As of now, the plan is most definitely to go after a third medal.”

For now, Kim will continuing celebrating her gold medal win at the 2022 Games. We can’t wait to see what she has in store in 2023 and, of course, down the road in the 2026 Italy Games.
