Wilde directed the 2022 psychological thriller Don't Worry Darling, which featured Florence Pugh, Harry Styles, Gemma Chan and Chris Pine and was set in the seemingly idyllic town of Victory, California, where all is not what it seems.

The film grossed nearly $90 million worldwide, but was subject to various controversies surrounding production, including a rumoured but denied pay gap between Styles and Pugh as well as a similarly denied feud between Pugh and Wilde.

Pine also denied that Styles had spat on him at the film's premiere, after a clip of an interaction between the pair went viral.
