Oklahoma tulip farms: Four places to pick your own tulips this spring

Spring is in the air and with it comes the smell of fresh and locally-grown flowers.

Often seen as the first sign of spring's arrival, there are over 3,000 registered varieties of tulips for flower lovers to choose from, with many grown at farms in Oklahoma.

Here are four Oklahoma farms where you can enjoy this year's spring blooms and pick your own bouquets.

Oklahoma Tulips

Oklahoma Tulips in Harrah at 20844 S.E. 29th St. offers over a dozen tulip options whether you pay $2.50 for a stem or $20 for 10 stems.

Admission is $5 per person and children 4 years old and under are free. More information is available on their Facebook page.

Myriad Botanical Gardens Tulip Festival

Myriad Botanical Gardens, 301 W. Reno Ave. will host its 2nd annual Tulip Festival from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on March 30 and 31.

Admission is free, but visitors should bring cash for purchases with food trucks, vendors and local artisans that will be present.

Bayer's Blooms

Bayer's Bloom in Perkins at 10311 Brenna Drive, a small flower farm focusing on wedding and event flower arrangements, designates one of its fields to tulips and a U-Pick farm each year.

Prices will include $2.50 per stem and $20 for 10 stems. Admission is free.

Bayer's Blooms will offer pick-your-own tulips during certain times from March 15-21:

  • 3 to 5 p.m. Thursday, March 14

  • 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, March 15

  • 10 to Noon Tuesday, March 19

  • 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, March 21

Two Girls Tulips

Two Girls Tulips in Miami at 61851 East 140 Road, offers a variety of tulips in its locally-grown garden. Opening day will be announced on the business's Facebook page.
