OKC Thunder's Chet Holmgren stars in Nike commercial for Kevin Durant's latest sneaker

OKC Thunder rookie Chet Holmgren is the star in a Nike commercial for Kevin Durant's latest sneaker, the KD 17.

The commercial debuted on Monday. It's narrated by Durant, who played for the Thunder from 2008-16 and is now with the Phoenix Suns.

"You think you can do it?" Durant asked Holmgren in the commercial. "I'm not just talking ball. You think you can put the whole city on your shoulders? Well, step up then."

"I know I can do it," Holmgren replied. "Because y'all don't know my drive. Y'all don't know my hunger, and y'all don't yet realize the bigger picture. Even though I’m following the footsteps of a legend, I’m walking my own path.”

Holmgren has helped usher in a new era for OKC, which is the West's No. 1 seed in the NBA playoffs.

After missing all of last season due to a foot injury, the former No. 2 overall pick in 2022 has played in all 83 of the Thunder's games this time around. Holmgren is averaging 16.5 points, 7.9 rebounds and 2.3 blocks.

Holmgren was named a finalist for the NBA's Rookie of the Year award on Sunday, but he isn't just a rising star on the court.

From starring in an AT&T commercial alongside teammate Shai Gilgeous-Alexander to appearing on stage during a Drake concert at Paycom Center, Holmgren is garnering national attention.

Holmgren and OKC will host New Orleans in Game 2 of the first-round playoff series at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday. The Thunder earned a 94-92 win over the Pelicans in Game 1 on Sunday.
