A place that will help keep your car running smoothly has opened its doors in one of Columbia’s busiest retail corridors.

Valvoline Instant Oil Change recently opened a new shop at 165 Columbiana Drive in the Harbison shopping district northwest of downtown Columbia. The oil change business is located near a Verizon store and the AMC Harbison 14 movie theater. It is directly across Columbiana Drive from the Columbiana Centre mall.

Valvoline Instant Oil Change locations are known, naturally, for their speedy oil changes where the customer remains in their car during the service. According to the Valvoline website, no appointments are necessary and the oil changes take about 15 minutes. The company also offers other services, according to the website, such as battery replacement, air conditioner recharging and more.

According to state traffic count data, about 11,000 cars per day pass down the section of Columbiana Drive where the new oil change shop has opened.

The opening of Valvoline Instant Oil Change is just one of a number of moves being made in the general Harbison area, where businesses continue to open and make changes.

For instance, there is a new Panera Bread restaurant under construction in front of the shopping center at 275 Harbison Blvd. Meanwhile, a new Crumbl Cookies store is set to open at 150-C Harbison Blvd., in the shopping center that also houses Publix, Target and others.

And Chick-fil-A is in the process of building a new restaurant at 294 Harbison Blvd. The chicken chain tore down its previous restaurant at that address to build back a bigger store with more drive-thru capacity. It is set to open this year.
