Ohio State women sweep Toledo in first round of NCAA tennis tournament

The Ohio State women's tennis team swept Toledo 4-0 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Saturday.

Playing at home, the Buckeyes (20-7) will face Vanderbilt (13-10) in the second round at noon Sunday. Vanderbilt defeated Wake Forest 4-1 on Saturday.

Ohio State got the doubles point on wins by Audrey Spencer/Luciana Perry and Madeline Atway/Teah Chavez, then got singles victories from Perry, Irina Cantos Siemers and Akanksha Bhan. OSU's Spencer, Chavez and Sydni Ratliff were winning their matches when the Buckeyes clinched.

Ohio State's top-ranked men's defeated Oklahoma State in the second round on Saturday.
