Authorities have identified three people killed in a head-on collision on the Kansas Turnpike Saturday afternoon.

The three victims were Sheena Harroald, 37, of Wichita; Wanda Tidwell, 86, of Park City; and Nathelia McIntosh, 62, of Wichita, Kansas Highway Patrol crash logs show.

The wreck happened around 1:32 p.m. in a construction zone near Belle Plaine and involved three vehicles.

Harroald was northbound on I-35 in a 2017 Honda Accord. Tidwell, McIntosh and 42-year-old Shala Harroald were all passengers in the Accord. For unknown reasons, the Accord “went left of center in a head-to-head construction zone,” the crash log said.

The Accord clipped a 2017 Chevy Cruze and then struck a 2020 Chevy Traverse head-on. The driver of the Cruze, 46-year-old Eric Stevenson of Bowman, North Dakota, was taken to Ascension Via Christi St. Francis with minor injuries, according to the report.

The occupants of the Traverse, Larry and Vickey Tripplet, both 64, of Wichita, were also taken to St. Francis in Wichita.

Sheena Harroald, Tidwell and McIntosh all died at the scene of the collision. Shala Harroald was taken to St. Francis with serious injuries, the log said.
