A crane collapsed at the Samsung site in Taylor on Friday afternoon but caused no injuries, officials said.

"Around 1 p.m. today a crane operator noticed a mechanical issue with the equipment he was operating," according to a statement from Samsung. "While the crane was being prepared for repairs, the boom lowered out of control to the ground. No personnel were struck by the crane."

The crane company, which was not named in the statement, is working with the Occupational Safety and Hazard Administration to investigate the incident, according to the statement.

The collapse of the crane did nott affect any buildings or project timelines, said Michel Glaze, a Samsung spokeswoman. She declined further comment. A spokesman for OSHA did not immediately respond for comment on Friday.
