The Office Reboot Adds Domhnall Gleeson and Sabrina Impacciatore as First Cast Members

The Office is hiring: Domhnall Gleeson (The Patient) and Sabrina Impacciatore (The White Lotus) are the first cast members to sign on for a new reboot in the works from original series co-creator Greg Daniels, our sister site Deadline reports.

The new take on the hit NBC workplace comedy, which starred Steve Carell as the inept branch manager of a Pennsylvania paper company, will be set in a new office with new characters but will take place in the same universe as the original series. Details on Gleeson and Impacciatore’s roles have not been released, but they’re said to be part of an ensemble cast.

The Office reboot was first announced back in September, with a writers’ room convening in January. Michael Koman (Nathan For You) has since joined the project as a co-creator along with Daniels. No network or streamer is officially attached to the project yet, though.

Gleeson earned a Golden Globe nomination for playing serial killer Sam — opposite Carell, in fact — in FX/Hulu’s The Patient. He currently stars alongside Andrea Riseborough in the PBS romantic drama Alice & Jack. His film credits include the recent Star Wars sequels, the final two Harry Potter films, Ex Machina and About Time.

Impacciatore, a celebrated comedic actress in her native Italy, played hotel manager Valentina in Season 2 of HBO’s The White Lotus, earning an Emmy nomination last year for the role.
