Oakfield School District announces new district administrator to succeed Tracey Conners after retirement
OAKFIELD — Oakfield School District has selected Sarah Poquette as its new district administrator.
Current administrator Tracey Conners will retire June 30 after three years, and once the board approves Poquette's position March 11, she will start her new role July 1.
“In a group of three excellent candidates, Sarah’s experience, knowledge and personality stood out as an excellent fit within the School District of Oakfield,” Oakfield School District Board President Paul Dercks said. “We are really looking forward to having her on board and to all that’s ahead for our district with her at the helm.”
Poquette earned her doctorate in educational leadership and policy from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh after receiving a master's degree in educational leadership from Marian College.
She has been principal of Perry Tipler Middle School and ALPs Charter School in Oshkosh since 2019, and previously served the Oshkosh School District in principal and teaching roles since 2001. These include principal at Merrill Elementary School; math intervention, gifted and talented and professional development teacher at Merrill and Oaklawn elementary schools; Lighted School House project director; and fifth-grade teacher at Webster Stanley Elementary School.
Poquette was also a district-wide peer coach and held several committee and leadership positions, including co-chairperson for Emergency Preparedness Collaborative Operations Team since 2016 and principal mentor since 2010.
"I am really excited to start working alongside and building relationships with the School District of Oakfield staff, Board of Education and community," Poquette said. "Together, we will continue building and growing, with an emphasis on advocating for students and creating additional opportunities for their success."
