Oak Harbor's Austin Sorg top-four seed for two events at state swim meet

Port Clinton senior Kami Periat is seeded third in the 100 freestyle (51.30 seconds) and 100 backstroke (55.31) for the state swim meet in Canton this week.

Periat won the backstroke last season.

Oak Harbor junior Abby Schiller is seeded 19th with 328.60 points for diving, senior Alyse Sorg is 13th in the 200 IM (2:12.22) and eighth for the 100 breaststroke (1:06.38), and senior Skyler Turner is 25th in the 200 IM (2:15.36) and 18th for the 100 breaststroke (1:07.51).

Paige Krupp is 13th for the 100 backstroke (58.77) and 24th for the 100 freestyle (54.50). The Rockets' 200 medley relay is 11th at 1:52.16, a 200 free relay is 23rd at 1:43.82 and a 400 free relay is 12th at 3:42.81.

Oak Harbor's Andrea Sorg was recognized as the Division II Northwest District Swim Coach of the Year for both the girls and boys.

Port Clinton senior Alexa Taylor is 32nd for the 200 freestyle (1:59.66). A 200 free relay is seeded No. 6 at 1:39.92 and 400 free relay is eighth at 3:40.69.

Margaretta junior Alayna Biehl is 16th for the 50 freestyle (24.59) and 23rd for the 100 freestyle (54.50).

Oak Harbor's Andrea Sorg was recognized Division II Northwest District Swim Coach of the Year for girls. She earned the same honor for boys.

Division II boys

Oak Harbor sophomore Austin Sorg is seeded third for the 100 butterfly (49.36) and fourth for the 500 freestyle (4:41.22) at state.

Junior Nathan Warnke is 27th for the 100 freestyle (49.36) and freshman Tyler Johannsen is 31st for the 500 free (5:02.14) for the Rockets.

Clyde freshman Eli Morgan is 26th for the 200 free (1:48.29) and 19th for the 500 freestyle (4:54.11).

Port Clinton junior Derek Barnhill is 29th for the 500 free at 5:01.75.

Margaretta junior Carson Miller is 32nd for the 50 free (22.44).

Oak Harbor's 200 medley relay is seeded fifth at 1:38.99 and a 400 free relay 12 at 3:19.58.

Fremont Ross senior Evan Beardmore is 31st for the 50 free at 21.76.

The Little Giants' 200 free relay is 21st at 1:29.20.

A 200 free relay is 13th at 1:39.44 for the girls.
