South Carolina football held its 13th preseason camp practice Thursday morning. For the final time this preseason, members of the media were allowed to watch the first six periods, or about 20 minutes.

Here are some news and notes from the viewing window:

  • Five-star wide receiver signee Nyck Harbor was not seen practicing with the wide receivers during Thursday’s viewing period. A team spokesman didn’t have any official updates as to Harbor’s whereabouts. For additional context: Beamer said Harbor played in the closed scrimmage Saturday, and Thursday marked the first day of fall classes at USC.

  • Antwane Wells Jr. and tight end Reid Mikeska were also absent from practice during the viewing period. Coach Shane Beamer told media Saturday that both missed the scrimmage because of injury and would not be returning this week.

  • Tight end Trey Knox, freshman linebacker Pup Howard, defensive edge Terrell Dawkins, offensive lineman Cason Henry and wide receiver Kelton Henderson were all at practice for the viewing window after not participating in Saturday’s scrimmage. Knox wore a brace on his right leg, which was also taped up. Howard and Dawkins donned blue non-contact jerseys along with Tyreek Johnson and wide receiver Eddie Lewis.

  • Offensive lineman Vershon Lee, who’s talked about taking reps at center this fall, was seen snapping the ball to Spencer Rattler during drills. Grayson Mains lined up in front of Luke Doty, meaning Mains will likely be Lee’s backup.

  • The Gamecocks ran a few no-huddle plays during the viewing period. The first-team offense included: Rattler (QB), Dakereon Joyner (RB), Knox (TE), Xavier Legette (WR), Ahmarean Brown (WR) and O’Mega Blake (WR) at skill positions. From left to right, the offensive line had Jaxon Hughes, Nick Garguilo, Lee, Trai Jones and Henry.

  • First-team defense during the no-huddle period had Jordan Strachan, Alex Huntley, Tonka Hemingway and Jatius Geer on the line. Stone Blanton and Debo Williams were at linebacker. Marcellas Dial and Emory Floyd at corner, Keenan Nelson at nickel, Nick Emmanwori and DQ Smith at safety.

  • Second-team offense: Doty, Mario Anderson, Lewis, Joseph Morris, Payton Mangrum, Josh Simon, Tree Babalade, Trovon Baugh, Grayson Mains, JonDarius Morgan, Sidney Fugar.

  • Second-team defense: Desmond Umeozulu, TJ Sanders, Nick Barrett, Bryan Thomas Jr., Mo Kaba, Colin Bryant, Vicari Swain, Judge Collier, Kajuan Banks, Jalon Kilgore and King-Demenian Ford.

  • NFL scouts from the San Francisco 49ers and Minnesota Vikings were seen on the sidelines Thursday.
