NYC Mayor Eric Adams says cheers to SNL parody

NBC’s Saturday Night Live did its first send-up of New York City’s newly-minted mayor this weekend — it did not disappoint and Hizzoner approved.

Mayor Eric Adams said the bit — performed by SNL’s Chris Redd — cracked him up so much that he spit out his wine while watching the seven-minute sketch.

“They did an amazing job — two weeks in office and already SNL,” he said, chuckling after a City Hall press briefing on Tuesday. “I laughed so much that they owe me money because I spit out my merlot on my shoes. I need a new pair.”

Adams also lauded the SNL team for getting “his bracelets” and “swagger statement” right.

Hizzoner would not say, though, when he intends to appear as a guest on the show.
