A Springtown man was sentenced Thursday to 35 years in prison without parole after a Parker County jury convicted him of repeatedly sexually abusing an 11-year-old girl in 2021.

Aniceto Turrubiates Sanchez’s wife came home early from work one day and found him in a bed with the victim naked from the waist down, according to authorities. In her testimony, the wife told jurors that her husband said that he was asleep and that nothing happened. When she asked the victim, the girl said he had been molested.

Sanchez’s wife took the girl to Cook Children’s Medical Center in Fort Worth where she was seen by a sexual assault nurse examiner. Sanchez was arrested by the Parker County Sheriff’s Office after the girl told medical staff he had molested her between 10 to 20 times a day, according to authorities.

“Despite the fact that this was a strong case, our victim had to take the witness stand and tell our jury how the defendant repeatedly molested her,” said Parker County District Attorney Jeff Swain in a news release. “She was proud to have stood up for herself and we were very proud of her. This jury’s decision demonstrates yet again the firm stand that Parker County has long taken against pedophiles who would prey on our children.”

In a statement to investigator Nathan Vick, Sanchez denied touching the girl and would change what he said in interviews.

“We felt his hiding important details was indicative of his consciousness of guilt,” said Abby Placke, an assistant district attorney. “Eventually, he admitted that he made a mistake, but he would never actually come out and admit what he had done.”

The jury deliberated for about an hour before returning with a guilty verdict.

Parole is not possible for defendants convicted of continuous sexual abuse of a young child, according to Swain.
