North Jersey man killed in single-vehicle crash on Route 17 in Lodi on Sunday morning

A man from Jersey City was killed early Sunday morning in a crash in the area of 99 Route 17 north in Lodi, the Lodi Police Department reported.

Officers responded at about 4:14 a.m. after a report of a single-vehicle accident. They found a newer-model Jeep with a single occupant, the driver, trapped inside.

The driver, 31, was pronounced dead at the scene. The person's identity is being withheld due to pending notification of the next of kin.

The investigation is continuing.
