Congratulations to the Lomira softballtrio of Nora Buske, Haleigh Caspary, and Taylor Bloohm on being voted high school athletes of the week for the second time, collectively, this season. This is Buske's third consecutive week as the top overall vote-getter.

Buske, Caspary, and Bloohm together received 782 out of 3,064 total votes cast (25.52%) after last Monday's 13-2 win over Oakfield, in which Buske went 4-for-5 with a double, three runs scored, and two RBIs while also finishing the final three innings in the circle where she allowed four hits, a walk and a run to go with six strikeouts.

In Tuesday's 2-0 win versus WLA, Caspary pitched a no-hitter with 11 strikeouts and only two walks allowed.

In Thursday's 15-0, 3-inning shutout victory against Omro, Buske pitched a no-hitter, striking out eight while allowing one walk with a triple, run scored and RBI at the plate. Caspary went 2-for-2 with a home run, double, two runs scored, and three RBIs.

Finally, in Friday's 14-11 loss to Winneconne, Buske went 3-for-4 with a triple, three runs scored, and two RBIs.

For the week, Bloohm went a combined 8-for-13 (.615 batting avg.) with a home run, three doubles, five runs, and seven RBIs.

This week we had an outstanding number of submissions from coaches, fans, and parents. Therefore: Here are the 34 outstanding nominees, representing a dozen of our area high schools in five different sports, for the Fond du Lac Reporter/Oshkosh Northwestern Athlete of the Week for the week of April 29-May 4:

KYLER BOWE, Campbellsport baseball: Bowe's bat was baking hot all week, hitting 10-for-15 (.666) to help charge the Cougars lineup to a 4-0 record.

WILL MAUTHE/RILEY YESKIE/CARSON HULL/COLE THORIN, Fond du Lac boys golf: Mauthe shot an even 36 overall to lead the Cardinals to a 162-178 conference win over Neenah at Rolling Meadows on Tuesday. Yeskie followed with a 39 (+3) to finish with the second-lowest score, individually. Then on Friday, Hull shot a 36 overall (+1) to lead all golfers at Grand View in a tight 161-162 conference loss to Hortonville. Thorin followed with a 39 (+4). Finally, on Saturday, Thorin took first place in the Fond du Lac Invitational at Rolling Meadows with a 71 overall (-1) to help lead Fondy to first place, out of 11 teams, with a total score of 315 (+27). Yeskie followed with a 75 (+3) to take second place, individually, and Mauthe shot a 78 (+6) to finish tied for fourth.

SUSAN VOKES, Fond du Lac softball: In Tuesday's 5-0 victory over Appleton North, Vokes pitched a two-hitter over seven innings to earn the win, striking out seven with one walk. Vokes also helped her own cause, going 2-for-4 with two doubles and a pair of RBIs. In Thursday's 10-6 loss at Oshkosh West, Vokes went 2-for-4 with a double, a run, and four RBIs. Finally, in Saturday's triangular against West De Pere and De Pere, Fondy picked up 5-3 and 2-1 victories, respectively, with Vokes earning the complete game win in game two after seven innings in the circle with six strikeouts.

COLTON HAGNER, Laconia baseball: Last week, Hagner clobbered a pair of three-run home runs and collected nine total RBIs to help lead the No. 6 (D-3) Spartans to a 3-0 week, overall, with a pair of wins over WLA and a dub against Ripon.

AUBREY MAURER/KAYLIN LEMKE/LILY SCHULTZ, Laconia softball: Maurer clobbered a two-run home run in the Spartans' 3-2 loss to North Fond du Lac on Monday. In Tuesday's 7-4 loss to No. 5 Lomira, Lemke went 2-for-3 with a home run, two runs scored, and three RBIs. In Wednesday's 2-0 win over WLA, Schultz pitched a no-hitter, striking out 13 over seven innings and Maurer drove in one of the Spartans' two runs to help secure the win.

JOSH STEGER/EASTON ZANGL/WESTON POTH, Lomira baseball: In a 10-0 win over Omro on Tuesday, Steger threw a no-hitter with 11 strikeouts while Zangl and Poth each had two hits to help lead the Lions' offense. Then in Thursday's 9-3 victory over the Foxes, Zangl collected four more hits and Poth threw a complete game one-hitter with 12 strikeouts.

ALEX LUEDTKE/PRESTON JUNG, Lomira boys golf: Luedtke shot a 39 overall (+3) to tie for first place, individually, helping to lead the Lions to a second-place finish as a team with a total score of 172 at the Flyway Conference Meet hosted by St. Mary's Springs on Monday in the first leg of a doubler at South Hills and Auburn Bluffs, respectively. Luedtke then shot a 42 overall (+6), in the second leg, to tie for third place at the meet hosted by Campbellsport, where Lomira placed fourth as a team with a total score of 190. Finally, on Wednesday, Jung and Luedtke placed first out of 32 schools and 120 golfers at the 26th Lawsonia Invitational, where the pair shot a 79 and 84 overall, respectively, for a team score of 163. The Lions won Division 2 and Jung was in a three-way tie for first for the lowest overall score. The team and individual scores were also the lowest of all three divisions represented.

NORA BUSKE, Lomira softball: In Tuesday's 7-4 win over Laconia: Buske - the reigning three-time Athlete of the Week - went 2-for-4 with two runs scored while also earning the win in the circle after four innings pitched, allowing a walk and two runs with nine strikeouts. In Thursday's 5-4 loss to St. Mary's Springs, Buske went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI.

HUNTER STELZER, Lourdes Academy/Valley Christian baseball: Stelzer pitched a five-inning no-hitter with only a walk allowed and 14 strikeouts in a 14-0 shutout win over Randolph on Friday.

ALLIE SCHWIRTZ/HAYDEN SCHABEL, Mayville softball: Schwirtz struck out 13 and allowed only two hits in the Cardinals' 4-0 shutout victory over WLA on Tuesday and Schabel smacked a three-run home run in the top of the seventh to provide most of the offense.

LEAH PATTERSON, North Fond du Lac softball: Patterson picked up a pair of wins, for the Orioles, over Laconia and Plymouth and struck out 13 batters over 14 innings.

COLTON ANGELL, Oshkosh North baseball: In Monday's 3-2, tough luck loss to Appleton East: Colton Angell went 1-for-3 with a double and a run scored while also pitching 4 1/3 innings, scattering two hits and four walks to allow just a single run with seven strikeouts.

BROOKE PETERS, Oshkosh North softball: Peters needed only 50 pitches (38 strikes) to toss a perfect game, striking out nine and earning the win in the circle as the Spartans shutout Appleton West, 18-0, in five innings on Tuesday. Then, in Friday's doubleheader against Appleton East, game one went to the Spartans thanks to another solid outing from Peters, who faced three above the minimum over seven innings with four hits and two runs allowed, striking out six.

TAYLIN HEIMAN, Oshkosh West girls soccer: Heiman scored in each game and assisted on a goal in a pair of victories (5-0 on Tuesday; 3-1 on Thursday) for the Wildcats over their FVA rivals, Oshkosh North and Fond du Lac, respectively.

COLLEEN FITZPATRICK/SAVANNAH SWANKE/ALAYNA SADOWSKA, Oshkosh West softball: In Friday's 10-6 victory over Fond du Lac, Fitzpatrick knocked out a leadoff home run and finished 2-for-3 with a walk, two runs scored, and two RBIs. Swanke also homered, going 2-for-4 with three RBIs, and Sadowska went 3-for-4, driving in two runs to help out her own cause at the plate on the way to a win in the circle after a complete game, allowing eight hits, two walks, and four earned runs over seven innings with six strikeouts.

TYLER HOFFMANN/BEN BAKER, St. Mary's Springs boys golf: Hoffmann shot a 39 overall (+3) to tie for first place, individually, helping to lead Springs to a team win with a total score of 163 at the Flyway Conference Meet, hosted by the Ledgers, on Monday in the first leg of a doubler at South Hills and Auburn Bluffs, respectively. Baker followed with a 40 (+4) to take third place. Baker then shot a 41 overall (+5), in the second leg, to tie for first place at the meet hosted by Campbellsport, where Springs placed second as a team with a total score of 172. Hoffmann tied for sixth with a 43 (+7).

GRACE KONKOL, St. Mary's Springs softball: In Thursday's 5-4 upset victory over No. 5 (D-3) Lomira, Konkol earned the win for the Ledgers after striking out eight with only one walk allowed, while also going 2-for-2 at the plate with a run to help her own cause. Konkol also earned the win in Springs' 3-1 victory over North Fond du Lac on Tuesday.

SAM FERGUSON, Winnebago Lutheran baseball: In conclusion of a suspended game from the previous Friday, Ferguson finished off a no-hitter to secure a 2-0 Vikings win over Omro on Friday. Ferguson struck out seven and walked four through seven innings while also helping himself out at the plate with a base hit.

LEAH THEISEN, Winnebago Lutheran girls soccer: Theisen recorded hat tricks for the Vikings in both the 5-1 victory over Campbellsport on Tuesday and the 5-0 shutout win over Lomira on Thursday.

MADDIE ANHALT, Winnebago Lutheran softball: In a 4-0 pitchers' duel loss to No. 3 (D-3) Mayville on Tuesday, Ahhalt nearly matched the Cardinals' Allie Schwirtz (13 strikeouts) in the circle with 12 Ks and allowed only one run in six innings of work. Then, in Wednesday's 2-0 tough luck loss to Laconia, Anhalt pitched six innings, surrendering two runs on seven hits with nine strikeouts. Finally, the Vikings got a much-needed win on Senior Night in Friday's 6-0 shutout victory over Watertown Luther Prep, and Anhalt was brilliant in the circle, recording 19 strikeouts and allowing only two hits.

KAIDEN SCHMITZ, Winnebago Lutheran track & field: Schmitz took first in the Boys Shot Put with a throw of 50-03.00 and first in the Boys Discus with a throw of 162-07.

AUSTIN DOBBE, Winneconne boys golf: Dobbe shot a 37 overall (+1) to take first place, individually, helping to lead the Wolves to a third-place finish as a team with a total score of 166 at the East Central Conference meet hosted by Kettle Moraine Lutheran at Washington County Golf Course in Hartford, Wis. on Thursday.
