Noah Schnapp has officially come out as gay. In a new TikTok posted to his account on January 5, the Stranger Things star took part in a trend and lip-synced to a sound that says, "You know what it never was? That serious. It was never that serious. Quite frankly, would never be that serious."

The trend typically includes text that comedically describes a situation that happens to demand more careful consideration. The text in Noah's video reads, "When I finally told my friends and family I was gay after being scared in the closet for 18 years and all they said was 'we know.'"

In the comments section of his TikTok, Noah was met with an outpour of support from celebs and fans alike. "Welcome king," TikToker Chris Olsen wrote. Another fan chimed in, saying, "Good for you for being your true self!" while someone else jokingly commented, "He said method acting 🕺."

"I guess I’m more similar to Will than I thought," Noah captioned the post, alluding to his Stranger Things character Will Byers, whom Noah revealed was queer in a 2022 interview with Variety. "Obviously, it was hinted at in season 1: It was always kind of there, but you never really knew, is it just him growing up slower than his friends? Now that he’s gotten older, they made it a very real, obvious thing," Noah told the outlet. "Now it’s 100 percent clear that he is gay and he does love Mike."
