No hitters and home runs: Vote for the Columbia area girls athlete of the week

It's that time again! Time to vote for The Daily Herald's Columbia area girls athlete of the week for April 22-26.

This week's candidates include:

Bailey Lovell, Columbia Central: Lovell pitched a complete game, striking out nine batters while allowing six hits and no earned runs last Monday. Lovell struck out 11 batters in five innings last Thursday, allowing five hits and one earned run. She was 2-for-8 on the week with two doubles and an RBI.

Saviya Morgan, Columbia Central: Morgan went 7-for-9 on the week with a double, five runs, a RBI and nine stolen bases as Columbia went 3-0.

Phynlee Keeling, Culleoka: Keeling pitched a complete game, striking out 13 batters while allowing two hits and two earned runs last Thursday. She also pitched five innings last Tuesday, striking out six while allowing five hits and no earned runs. On the week she was 7-for-11 with two home runs, a double, two RBIs, a stolen base and two additional runs.

Mallory Corbin, Loretto: Corbin pitched seven innings, striking out 12 batters while allowing four hits and one earned run as Loretto beat Lewis County 4-3 in extra innings last Monday. Corbin was also 2-for-3 with four RBIs and two runs last Tuesday.

Mary Katherine Butler, Richland: Butler was 5-for-9 on the week with two home runs, a triple, nine RBIs, two runs and a stolen base as Richland went undefeated.

Ava Shrader, Richland: Shrader pitched two no-hitters last week. She struck out seven batters across four innings in a 15-0 win over Santa Fe and also struck out seven batters in three innings in a 15-0 win over Fayetteville City. Shrader was also 3-for-5 with a triple, two doubles, two runs and four RBIs in a 15-2 win over Santa Fe.

Hailey Lippert, Spring Hill: Lippert was 3-for-4 with a home run, a double, two RBIs and an additional run in a 13-5 loss last Tuesday. Lippert was also 1-for-4 with a double and two RBIs last Monday.

Tarek Scherr, Summit: Scherr was 6-for-10 on the week with two home runs, a triple, seven RBIs, two additional runs and a stolen base as Summit went 2-1.

Ashleia Coble, Zion Christian: Coble had two 10-strikeout games. First last Thursday, allowing two hits and no earned runs, then last Friday she pitched a four inning no-hitter, striking out 10 batters. Coble was also 3-for-3 with a home run, a triple, a double, five RBIs and three total runs last Friday.

Marleigh McWilliams, Zion Christian: McWilliams pitched a complete game, striking out 17 batters while allowing three hits and one earned run in a 9-1 win last Tuesday. On the week she was 6-for-11 with a home run, two doubles, five RBIs, four runs and a stolen base.
