Left with ‘no choice,’ this Garden City brewery and restaurant just closed forever

A Garden City hangout for beer drinkers and fans of gourmet hot dogs is no more.

Twisted District Brew Co., 3840 W. Chinden Blvd., has closed. The locally owned brewery and restaurant revealed the decision in a short statement on social media.

“For the last 3 1/2 years, we have brought some amazing brews, a unique and innovative menu and some of the best local entertainment in the valley. Unfortunately, like many small businesses and independent restaurants, we have succumbed to the economic conditions and have no choice but to close permanently.

“We are forever grateful for our amazing customers and staff that have crossed our thresholds during our time here. We love you all and wish you nothing but the best!”

Twisted District’s announcement came one day after the brewery had posted online that it had “closed until further notice.”

Opened in late 2020, Twisted District joined the Garden City neighborhood vibe with industrial-chic decor, a 57-foot segmented bar and a roll-up garage door.

Food was prepared quickly in a small “speed-scratch” kitchen powered by a high-end combination oven — no fryer, griddle or grill.

Customers could choose from options ranging from brisket and gorgonzola kettle chips to charcuterie, wings, pinsa, chili — and lots and lots of ambitious hot dogs from the Dog Park section of the menu.

The brewery offered customers a variety of beer-friendly food options, such as this birria grilled cheese sandwich.
