No charges yet for February 'road rage' rollover in Grand Haven

GRAND HAVEN TWP. — Two children ejected from a vehicle in February after a "road rage" rollover on US-31 have been released from the hospital, although one is receiving ongoing care.

That's according to an update from Captain Jake Sparks with the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office.

The crash took place shortly before 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 4, near Fillmore Street in Grand Haven Township. Deputies from the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office responded.

Upon arrival, they learned, based on observations and witness statements, the two involved vehicles were traveling south when they engaged in aggressive "road rage" driving. Both lost control of their vehicles, which left the roadway.

She and her 30-year-old passenger, also of Holland Township, suffered minor injuries and were transported to Spectrum Hospital in Grand Rapids.

Two children in the Jeep, girls aged 9 and 10, were ejected and suffered life-threatening injuries. The 10-year-old was transported to Helen DeVos Children's Hospital by helicopter. The 9-year-old was transported by ambulance.

Another passenger, a 6-year-old girl, suffered injuries requiring treatment and was taken to the hospital. She has also since been released.
