KANSAS CITY’S MAHOMES WINS WEEK 10, SKIES TO SEASON LEAD; MIAMI’S TUA VAULTS INTO TOP 5 IN UPDATED MIAMI HERALD NFL QUARTERBACK RANKINGS: The Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes wins Week 10 with a 47.55-point game and seizes the overall No. 1 spot in the Miami Herald’s updated NFL quarterback rankings through Week 10. It’s the second straight weekly title and league-leading fourth of the year for Mahomes. The Dolphins’ Tua Tagovailoa finished a close second for the week and climbs to No. 5 overall despite missing almost three full games to a concussion. Our ratings system is cumulative not percentile based, rewarding players who are consistently productive and avoid injury or benching. QBs on a bye (such as Cincy’s Joe Burrow this past week) take a temporary hit that evens out over the course of a season. This is the 25th year for the Herald’s Passer Success System (PASS) rankings, which began in 1998, the year before Dan Marino retired, with Steve Young the first ever season champion.
