Nike debuts a special fountain-inspired jersey for the Kansas City Royals

The City of Fountains is finally getting Nike's special City Connect treatment.

On Monday, the brand unveiled the Kansas City Royals' City Connect collection. Nike's design team was inspired by the city's magnificent water structures and historic art deco style, and the new jersey pays homage to those icons.

The powder blue and white bands around the sleeve openings is a tribute to the classic jerseys from the 1970s and 1980s. The final detail, a crown, is a tribute to the rich baseball history of the city.

In addition to the City Connect collection jerseys, hats, socks, hoodies and t-shirts are also available at Nike, Academy Sports + Outdoors and the MLB Shop. Scroll on for a few standout styles.
