Nike, Adidas, New Balance and discounts: Athletic shoe store opens in Johnson County

A North Carolina-based shoe store, carrying a wide selection of athletic sneakers, has opened its second Kansas City area store.

Rack Room Shoes is now open at 15410 Shawnee Mission Parkway in Shawnee Station. It moved into the former Famous Footwear space.

The shoe store has another location in the Legends Outlets Kansas City, at 1829 Village West Parkway in Kansas City, Kansas, and is a sister company of Off Broadway Shoe Warehouse, which has a location in Olathe at 14695 W. 119th St.

Rack Room Shoes says it is known for its frequent discounts on name-brand shoes, including Nike, Adidas and New Balance.

Rack Room Shoes and Off Broadway Shoe Warehouse have over 520 locations nationwide.

Later this month, Mexican made-to-order restaurant Champion Burritos will also move into Shawnee Station at 16322 W. 65th St.
