A new fighter has joined the Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising. As part of the game’s version 1.21 update, 2B from Nier Automata has been added as part of the Deluxe Character Pass DLC to the roster, bringing original moves and an alternate 2P costume. A new character guide video showcasing gameplay for 2B has also been released.

Unlike other characters, 2B does not come with a dash attack. Instead, she relies on chaining strikes together. Her ranged attacks include a Gatling gun, a laser and a missile flurry. The character guide video also goes deep into her special attacks, which offer a new way to play the game.

Along with 2B, four premium avatars from Princess Connect! Re: Dive are also coming to GBFVS with exclusive royal equipment - Princess Sword, Retainer’s Windspear, Chaos Grimoire Weapon Cutouts for Grand Bruise. These four avatars are:

  • Pecorine

  • Kokkoro

  • Karyl

  • Sheffy

2B isn’t the only new addition, as tie-in content from Princess Connect! Re: Dive is also included in the update. A network indicator (RTT) has also been added for online ranked and casual matches. The update adds the Oceania server to the game as well. You can play as 2B by purchasing the character passes or through a stand-alone DLC purchase for $7.99. The DLC also includes a YoRHa Uniform outfit for the original mobile game, only included in the PS4 and PS5 versions of the game and will need to be redeemed separately.

Here is the official description of the character in the game:

An all-purpose battle android deployed as a member of the automated infantry squad, YoRHa. Members of YoRHa forgo names and are referred to only by their codes. Though regulations forbid them from expressing emotions, each model has its own distinguishing personality, and 2B is comparatively cool, calm, and collected.

As for other fighters, the following characters are joining the game through the Deluxe Character Pass 1:

  • Lucilius (added in January)

  • Vane

  • Beatrix

  • Two other characters

To celebrate the occasion, Cygames is currently hosting a sale for GBFVS on Steam. You can buy either the Standard Edition or the Deluxe Edition for 10% off until February 29, 2024.
