Nick Jonas Rumored to Play Frankie Valli in Streaming Version of ‘Jersey Boys’ Musical

It’s only Tuesday and we’ve already gotten a ton of exciting casting news. First, we learned that Nicole Kidman and Javier Bardem are in talks to play Lucy and Desi Arnaz in Aaron Sorkin’s upcoming movie, Being the Ricardos. And now, we just got word that Nick Jonas may also have a major project in the works.

According to a Deadline exclusive, the 28-year-old singer is reportedly in discussion to take on the role of Frankie Valli in a streaming performance of the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical Jersey Boys (think like Lin Manuel Miranda’s Hamilton on Disney+). Per the report, the event will be produced by Bohemian Rhapsody‘s Graham King and the original Broadway producers with Frankie Valli and Bob Gaudio.

So, what will the performance entail? The show will trace Valli’s origins from Newark to the top of the charts in the ’60s with the Four Seasons. And of course, Jonas will be singing a plethora of the group’s most famous songs.

While the report doesn’t confirm the casting news, Jonas’s wife, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, shared her reaction to the news on her personal Instagram account. In one of her IG Stories, Chopra Jonas shared a screenshot of the Deadline article. “Wohhooo let’s get it!!” she wrote alongside the pic. However, the youngest Jonas brother has yet to comment on the news himself. (We’ll be patiently waiting).

First Nicole, now Nick? We’d say it’s a good day on the movie news front.
