Nicholas Galitzine Talks Red, White & Royal Blue Sequel Odds, Imagines How His Mary & George Lothario Would Seduce Prince Henry — Watch Video

Nicholas Galitzine’s Prince Henry already got his happy ending in Red, White & Royal Blue, but that was only the beginning, right?!

The actor played the fictional Prince Henry of Wales in the aforementioned Prime Video original movie, which was based on Casey McQuiston’s bestselling novel about the forbidden enemies-to-lovers romance between a British Prince and Alex Claremont-Diaz (The Kissing Booth 2′s Taylor Zakhar Perez), the First Son of the female president of the United States. Since the film’s release last August, fans have been clamoring to see what’s next for Henry and Alex, who took their relationship public in a big way by the end of the movie. So could there actually be a sequel? Or does Galitzine feel like that story got closure?

“It depends on scripts and directors and everything like that,” Galitzine tells TVLine while promoting his Starz drama Mary & George. “But I’m so overwhelmingly pleased and humbled by the love that people showed that movie, obviously, in a time where we couldn’t promote it, as well, [because of the SAG-AFTRA strike]. So I’m eternally grateful for that.”

While fans hold their breaths for a Red, White & Royal Blue follow-up, they can catch Galitzine in Mary & George, where the actor is involved in a very different type of royal intrigue. Airing Fridays at 9/8c (and streaming on the Starz app), the limited series stars Julianne Moore as Mary Villiers, Countess of Buckingham, who molds her son, George Villiers (Galitzine), to seduce King James I (Tony Curran) in order to rise in the ranks in the Court of England. Based on a scandalous true story, there’s not much that the mother-and-son duo won’t do to get into King James’ bed. But how would Lothario George go about seducing Prince Henry?

“Oh, God. Hard to imagine the sort of modern context of it,” Galitzine replies. “But we were talking before about the characters in a modern setting and the existence of social media and dating apps and all of that. George is a very resourceful young man. I’m sure he’d figure out a way.”

And if that’s still not enough Galitzine content for you, the actor also stars opposite Anne Hathaway in Prime Video’s upcoming romance The Idea of You; watch the trailer.
