Michael Vick in Madden 2004 is one of the most-dominant video game athletes of all-time.

The then-Atlanta Falcons quarterback was pretty much unstoppable in the video game. Vick possessed elite speed and throwing ability. Playing as the Falcons quarterback was highly entertaining, while playing against him was incredibly frustrating.

For many kids growing up, it got to the point where Vick and the Falcons had to be off-limits so the games wouldn’t get too heated.

Earlier this week, though, Vick had a pretty stunning admission. The former NFL quarterback admitted that he didn’t like to play as himself.

Fans are stunned.

“Simply absurd. Mike Vick in Madden 04 was unstoppable. I would select this one single play each time and it was essentially a triple option. Never lost,” one fan tweeted.

Of course, some understood.

“The beauty of Madden (and video games in general) is being able to venture outside of yourself. Picking the worse team and making them the best. Picking a character nothing like you and beating the game. Vick was just experiencing that feeling,” one fan tweeted.

“Well yeah, if he wanted to play as himself he could just go to practice,” another fan added.

Hey, there’s some truth to that. Still, it’s hard to believe that one of the greatest video game athletes of all-time would prefer to play as someone else.
