After Cincinnati Bengals fans saw No. 1 overall pick Joe Burrow suffer a season-ending injury amid a historic rookie season, they’ve waited with baited breath for news of his return to full health. Today they got that long-awaited news.

On Sunday, NFL insider Ian Rapoport reported that Burrow is completely healthy heading into training camp. Despite tearing his ACL last season, he will not be on the PUP/NFL list, nor are there plans for him to.

Burrow’s injury could have been a career-ending one. On top of tearing his ACL he also tore his MCL while sustaining damage to his PCL and meniscus.

But in eight months, Burrow has seemingly overcome all of those injuries and all of that damage to return to the fold for Cincinnati. And fans couldn’t be happier to see it:

Joe Burrow was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft following a historic season at LSU. Burrow broke just about every major passing record as the Tigers went 15-0 and won the national championship.

While people were initially skeptical that Burrow’s college dominance would translate to the NFL, he soon proved them wrong. In Weeks 2 and 3 alone, he completed 65-percent of his passes for 628 yards and five touchdowns with no picks.

Before sustaining his injuries, Burrow had 2,688 passing yards, 13 touchdowns, five picks and a 65-percent completion rate.

He missed his chance to win Rookie of the Year last year. But Comeback Player of the Year (and maybe even the Pro Bowl) could all be on the table this year.

Welcome back, Joe!
