NFL World Reacts To Bucs vs. Cowboys Season Opener
As far as NFL Kickoff Games go, this year’s Thursday night opener between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Dallas Cowboys packs plenty of juice.
For one, Tom Brady and the Super Bowl champions will be back in action and raising their title banner. Brady is probably licking his chops at the thought of facing a rebuilding Dallas defense too.
On the other side, we’ll get to see Dak Prescott in his first game back from a devastating leg injury. The Cowboys are often predicted to be among the NFC’s elite in the preseason only to fall short when games start, so a win over Tampa in Week 1 would be a great way to show this year is different.
We’re four months away from the regular season getting underway, but the NFL world already seems pretty excited about Bucs-Cowboys.
Bucs 38, Cowboys 17 on opening Thursday night at Tompa Bay. We walk the plank. Wrong place, wrong time for this rebuilt Cowboys D. Brady takes all the young starters to school. Thanks, NFL.

#Cowboys in Dak’s return against the #Buccaneers as Brady sets out on his seventh title defense. Yeah, that should rate well.

Against the Defense new #Cowboy D-Coordinator Dan Quinn built.
Mr. Jones should've been begging to not get Tampa Week 1.

Also worth noting ahead of Bucs-Cowboys opener: Tom Brady's career numbers in openers as a defending Super Bowl champ: 5-1 record, 15 touchdown passes, one interception.

Since the NFL first started featuring the defending champions in the Kickoff Game in 2004, those teams are 13-3 on opening night. That bodes well for the Bucs.
Kickoff for Bucs-Cowboys is set for 8:20 p.m. ET on NBC on Sept. 9.
