NFL Week 7 early game injuries: WR Amon-Ra St. Brown ruled out with concussion

It has been a brutal day for injuries so far in Week 7. Three major players are already out after early game injuries, and there's still a lot of Sunday left to go.

Detroit Lions standout wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown was injured on his first touch of the game when he appeared to hit his head as he was tackled. He was removed and placed into the concussion protocol and the Lions designated him as out fairly quickly. It's not known how severe the head bump was, though St. Brown did jog off the field under his own power.

St. Brown had been struggling with an injured ankle, but since the Lions' bye was in Week 6, he didn't have to miss any games while he recovered.

Evan Neal, rookie offensive tackle for the New York Giants, has also been ruled out with an injury. In the second quarter against the Jacksonville Jaguars, Neal stepped awkwardly on his left knee and went down. He made it to the sideline on his own, but was then carted to the locker room.

That's a rough injury for Neal, the Giants' 2022 first-round pick, but in this game especially. Neal is from Florida and had a lot of friends and family at the game on Sunday.

According to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, Neal may have an MCL injury and could miss several games.

The Atlanta Falcons also took an injury hit on Sunday. Against the Cincinnati Bengals, they ruled out their top cornerback A.J. Terrell to a hamstring injury. In the first quarter, Terrell fell to the ground on the left side of the field at least 10 yards from the play while defending a Bengals receiver.

Terrell didn't play much in last week's game after sustaining a thigh injury. It's not clear if the two injuries are connected.
