NFL Team Changes Ticket Rules To Keep Out Away Fans
This Saturday, the Cincinnati Bengals will travel to Nashville to take on the No. 1-seed Tennessee Titans in a highly-anticipated divisional round matchup.
Fresh off their first postseason victory since 1990 in this past weekend’s Wild Card round, Bengals fans are in quite the frenzy. And with that in mind, the expectation is that The Jungle will travel well to Tennessee’s Nissan Stadium.
To combat this, the Titans organization has made a significant change to their ticketing policy just in time for Saturday’s game.
“We want Nissan Stadium to be two tone blue. And so by limiting this transfer window, it also limits the number of visiting team fans that we’ll have in the stadium,” Brooke Ellenberger, Vice President of Ticketing for the Titans, said, per Chris Davis of News Channel 5.
With the shortening of the transfer window, the resale of tickets in advance of the game will be made much more difficult. After purchase of a ticket, it can not be transferred to someone else until 24 hours before kickoff — meaning the earliest a Bengals fan could purchase a resale ticket is 4:30 p.m. ET on Friday.
“By limiting that transfer time would limit some of the resale and some of that transfer activity that would happen in advance,” Ellenberger added.
In what could be an extremely Tennessee-heavy Stadium, the Titans will kickoff against the Bengals at 4:30 p.m. ET on Saturday.
