In the latest accusations of wrongdoing against Washington’s football franchise; FrontOfficeSports.com reported that the Commanders allegedly pocketed ticket revenue that should have been shared with the NFL’s other teams.

By rule, 40 percent of all ticket money goes into a pot that’s divided amongst the league’s 32 franchises. According to FOS’ Aaran Perez, at least one person has informed investigators that Washington did not pass along the full 40.

On Monday, the NFL was asked if it has a comment on the damaging Commanders report: “No,” the league said.

Washington has yet to say anything further than their original statement on the matter.

The team is not aware of any investigation by the House Oversight Committee regarding financial matters, despite vague and unsubstantiated claims today by anonymous sources, a team spokesperson said. The team categorically denies any suggestion of financial impropriety of any kind at any time. We adhere to strict internal processes that are consistent with industry and accounting standards, are audited annually by a globally respected independent auditing firm, and are also subject to regular audits by the NFL. We continue to cooperate fully with the Committee’s work.

It’s not a great time to be Daniel Snyder or the Washington organization as a whole. Snyder is currently entangled in sexual harassment allegations. And his team is the topic of numerous investigations.

If this latest report holds true, Snyder will likely be out as Washington’s owner.
