It’s long been stated Aaron Rodgers isn’t happy with the Green Bay Packers. At this point, that’s common knowledge. But the actual reasons as to why still remain a bit of a mystery.

Some have pointed to money being the primary issue. Others have said Rodgers is displeased with how the Packers have managed the roster. Former ESPN insider Trey Wingo shared a different reason on Monday.

Wingo is “hearing” that the 2020-21 NFL MVP will only play for the Packers this upcoming season if they trade for his former teammate, Randall Cobb. Could it really be that simple and obscure? Wingo seems to believe so.

“Hearing Rodgers coming back to GB hinging on trading for former teammate Randall Cobb,” Wingo said on Twitter. “If Cobb is in Green Bay it looks like Rodgers will be too.”

It’s unclear if this is a troll attempt or a legitimate report. NFL fans are very puzzled by it.

Randall Cobb last played in Green Bay during the 2018 season. It proved to be his last year with the organization, an organization he spent a total of eight years with. Cobb then played one season with the Dallas Cowboys and spent the 2020 season in Houston.

Cobb isn’t expected to play a big role in the Houston Texans offense this upcoming season. So if all the Packers have to do to keep Rodgers is Green Bay is trade for Cobb, it shouldn’t be too much of an issue. We have a hard time believing that is all it’s going to take, though.

Rodgers’ frustrations boiled over this offseason, not when Cobb left Green Bay to sign with the Dallas Cowboys back in 2019.
