Lance Armstrong Is Trying to Go to MarsFOX

In today’s edition of “Are you kidding me?” we come to you with the news that Lance Armstrong is going to Mars ... sort of.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the “disgraced cycling champion” is starring in the new Fox reality TV series Stars on Mars, along with a dozen other celebrities of varying stature in what’s basically an intergalactic version of Survivor.

Stars on Mars is hosted by—who else?—Star Trek legend William Shatner. In addition to Armstrong, the show features other celebs like ex-NFL star Marshawn Lynch, wrestler Ronda Rousey, and even McLovin from Superbad. The show's premise: to see which celeb can colonize Mars first. Each week, Armstrong and the rest of the contestants will compete against each other, presumably do various space things, and vote to eliminate one of their teammates "until only one remains as the brightest star in the galaxy," EW reports.

And we all know how much Armstrong wants to be the brightest star, don’t we?

Look, we'll probably be tuning in to Stars on Mars with morbid curiosity—and with the hope that Fox actually has enough coin to permanently send Armstrong and his pals to the Red Planet.

Stars on Mars premieres on Fox on June 5, and the full cast list is below, per EW:

Disgraced cycling champion Lance Armstrong, actor Natasha Leggero, Super Bowl champion Marshawn Lynch, Superbad star Christopher Mintz-Plasse (a.k.a. "McLovin"), Olympic figure skater Adam Rippon, wrestler and UFC fighter Ronda Rousey, Vanderpump Rules star Tom Schwartz, football player Richard Sherman, singer/songwriter Tinashe, Real Housewives of Atlanta star Porsha Williams, actress Tallulah Willis, and former Modern Family star Ariel Winter.
