This New York French restaurant is opening its first Florida location in Miami Beach

Yet another New York restaurant brand is making its way to Miami Beach.

The Group hospitality firm, responsible for the French Boucherie restaurants — Boucherie West Village, Boucherie Union Square, Petite Boucherie and La Grande Boucherie — plans to open its first Boucherie restaurant South of Fifth, just around the corner from Joe’s Stone Crab.

Le Jardin Boucherie is the first Boucherie concept to arrive in South Florida, according to Emil Stefkov, founder and president of The Group. It’s also the company’s first garden-themed restaurant.

“We have many beautiful concepts, and we knew Miami was next on our list to break ground on, and what better way to do that than with a French garden party?” Stefkov said. “We wanted to bring Miami something we had not designed previously. With elegance and originality, we drew inspiration from Jardin de Danse of Paul Poret to capture this new garden concept.”

The Group co-designed the space with Legeard Studio and its founder, Julien Legeard. The idea is to create an outdoor oasis, with a greenery-shaded courtyard with canopies of foliage and flowers.

You can dine indoors, too. On the first floor is a Parisian steakhouse designed to feel like it’s Paris in 1920. The menu will “stay true to Parisian bistro fare,” Stefkov said, focusing on classic and modern French dishes and meat.

For those who prefer an intimate experience, a traditional omakase room will also open on the third floor, and next to it guests can imbibe at a secret speakeasy, the Golden Gai, open to restaurant guests before or after dining. But remember: you can only get a reservation with a recommendation from one of the restaurant regulars.

Stefkov says that South Beach’s atmosphere is why it’s a perfect fit for Boucherie — the sun, the beach, the glamorous nightlife, the Art Deco architecture.

“We don’t take the decision to move into a new territory lightly,” he said. “In fact, much deliberation and consideration has to take place when we think about finding a new home for our collection of restaurants. We know the type of personality that enjoys a perfectly executed meal. We know the type of neighborhood that appreciates meticulous attention to detail. We also tend to gravitate towards cities that are full of life. A neighborhood like South Beach’s South of Fifth has all of these qualities and then some. It was only natural to expand our brand here.”

Le Jardin Boucherie scheduled to open in early 2023.
