Wichita music venues packed with big-name shows this weekend, starting with Blake Shelton

It’s a good weekend to catch a show at one of Wichita’s many bigger venues. Nearly all of them have big-name musicians or recognizable comedians gracing their stages either Friday or Saturday, starting with mega-star Blake Shelton at Intrust Bank Arena on Friday.

If you’d rather hunt for eggs or see the Easter Bunny, the Eagle has already published a long list of Easter-related activities, which you can find at www.kansas.com/entertainment/holidays/

But if you’re not too busy planning egg hunts and ham dinners, here are some of the shows you could check out over the weekend:

Blake Shelton at Intrust

7 p.m. Friday, Intrust Bank Arena, 500 E. Waterman

Blake Shelton is bringing his “Back to the Honky Tonk Tour” to Intrust Bank Arena on Friday and will be joined by opening acts Dustin Lynch and Emily Ann Roberts. Shelton, who is also famous for his time as a judge on the NBC show “The Voice,” is known for songs like “Boys ‘Round Here” and “Happy Anywhere.” The show starts at 7 p.m., and remaining tickets range from $39 for the rafters to $349 for a spot against the stage. Gary Owen at Century II

8 p.m. Friday, Century II Concert Hall, 225 W. Douglas

Veteran comedian Gary Owen will be at Century II’s Concert Hall on Friday for a stop on “The Crossing Over Tour.” Owen, who also is an actor, has appeared in movies like “Back On the Strip,” “Daddy Day Care” and “Meet the Blacks.” He is also bringing several “surprise” comedians on tour with him. Cinderella’s Tom Keifer at The Cotillion

8 p.m. Friday, Cotillion, 11120 W. Kellogg

Fans of 1980s hair metal will recognize Tom Keifer, the frontman of the band Cinderella, whose hits included “Nobody’s Fool” and “Don’t Know What You Got (Till It’s Gone.)“ He’ll be at Wichita’s Cotillion on Friday night performing along with opening act LA Guns. The show starts at 8 p.m., and doors open at 7 p.m. Tickets are $37 at thecotillion.com

Not.Greenday at Wave

8 p.m. Saturday, Wave, 650 E. Second St.

There’s Green Day — the legendary pop punk band known for hits like “Basket Case” and “Boulevard of Broken Dreams.” Then there’s Not.Greenday — a tribute act that performs most of Green Day’s legendary catalog, which spans four decades. That group will perform on Saturday at Wichita’s Wave music venue. The show is open to all ages and starts at 8 p.m. (doors open at 7 p.m.) with opening act Hey Radio! Three Dog Night at Kansas Star

8 p.m. Saturday, Kansas Star Casino Arena, 777 Kansas Star Drive, Mulvane

Classic rock band Three Dog Night will perform at the Kansas Star Casino in Mulvane this weekend. The group, which has been touring for more than 50 years and is known for hits like “Mama Told Me (Not to Come)“ and “Joy to the World,” will perform at 8 p.m. Saturday at the arena inside of the casino. Doors open at 7 p.m. Tickets range from $35 to $50 and are available at www.ticketmaster.com

Trey Kennedy at The Orpheum

7 p.m. Saturday, Orpheum Theatre, 200 N. Broadway

Trey Kennedy, an Oklahoma-bred comedian who found fame on social media, will bring his “Grow Up” tour to Wichita’s Orpheum Theatre on Saturday. Kennedy, who has 12 million social media followers, also is the host of a popular podcast called “Correct Opinions with Trey Kennedy.” The show starts at 7 p.m., and tickets are $29-$65 at www.selectaseat.com, by phone at 316-755-7328 or in person at the Select-a-Seat box office inside Intrust Bank Arena.
