Here’s why Fort Worth’s Dickies Arena was named Billboard’s No. 1 venue in the world

Fort Worth’s Dickies Arena was named one of the most popular venues in the world, according to Billboard Magazine.

The magazine released its 2023 year-end boxscore charts last week and the Fort Worth arena took top honors for venues with a capacity of 10,001 to 15,000.

During Billboard’s tracking period of November 2022 to September 2023, Dickies Arena grossed $70.5 million in ticket sales. The venue also welcomed over 929,000 guests at its 110 shows held during the time period.

“Fort Worth is a wonderfully unique and diverse market with a passion for entertainment and it is wonderful that our Cowtown-Funky Town is being recognized on the international stage. It is a tremendous honor to be named Billboard’s #1 Venue in the World and we will continue to bring an array of top-notch entertainment to the city of Fort Worth,” said Matt Homan, president and general manager of Dickies Arena.

Dickies Arena just topped Germany’s Mercedes-Benz Arena on the listing, which cashed in $69.3 million over the magazine’s tracking period.

Austin’s Moody Center was number three on the 10,001- to 15,000-capacity category, as it welcomed 610,000 guests at 75 shows to the tune of $67.8 million.

OVO Hydro in the United Kingdom and Switzerland’s Hallenstadion rounded out the top five in the category on Billboard’s list.

During Billboard’s tracking period of November 2022 to September 2023, Dickies Arena welcomed many performers to its stage including Kenny Loggins, Brooks & Dunn, Koe Wetzel and Paramore. WWE’s Monday Night Raw stopped by, as did comedian Dave Chappelle. Country music icon George Strait played two sold out shows at Dickies.

The venue continues to have plenty on its plate for the remainder of the year and going into next. Park McCollum, Pitbull, Fall Out Boy and Tim McGraw are just a few of the performers stopping by Dickies.

Dickies Arena opened in 2019 and can seat up to 14,000. Billboard Magazine also named Dickies as the top venue (capacity 10,001-15,000) in North America over the summer.
