The Kansas Jayhawks are moving up in the college basketball rankings while the K-State Wildcats are moving down.

Both teams remained in the top 15 of the latest Associated Press Top 25, as released on Monday.

But only KU moved up. The Jayhawks surged to No. 3 in the national rankings following a pair of victories over Oklahoma State and Baylor. They will try to maintain that position when they head to No. 24 TCU for an important Big 12 game on Monday night.

KU was previously ranked at No. 5.

K-State dropped two spots to No. 14 after it split a pair of games last week, losing to Oklahoma on the road and then bouncing back with a victory over Iowa State at home.

The Wildcats will look to continue their winning ways on Tuesday against No. 9 Baylor.

Both teams are chasing new No. 1 Houston. The Cougars rose to the top of the rankings this week after Alabama suffered a loss against Tennessee and dropped to No. 2. UCLA and Purdue round out the top five.

The Big 12 is once again well represented in the Top 25 rankings. Five different teams are ranked this week with Kansas (3) leading the way and Texas (8), Baylor (9), K-State (14), Iowa State (23) and TCU (24) not far behind. Oklahoma State also received votes for the Top 25.
