Weather Channel star Jim Cantore in Buffalo ahead of snowstorm, so you know 'we are in for it'

New York Gov. Kathy Hochul is begging western New Yorkers in the path of a potentially historic multi-day snowstorm with a bullseye on Buffalo to please, please stay home.On Twitter, she described the battle plan, which involves a state of emergency, a fleet of 350+ snowplows, 42,000 tons of salt and more.

But you know this is a major big deal because Jim Cantore has already arrived.

On Thursday morning, the famed Weather Channel forecaster — who one month ago made headlines after being struck by an airborne tree limb while covering Hurricane Ian in Florida — interviewed Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz.

“Whether Buffalo city gets 4 feet or not is irrelevant,” Cantore told Poloncarz. “You’re gonna get something. I mean, Erie is gonna get crushed, as we know.”

On his own Twitter account, Cantore excitedly predicted that historic accumulations would be challenged. A Nov. 20, 2000, storm dumped 25 inches of snow on Buffalo in less than 24 hours. “Imagine doubling that total in the same amount of time!"

In another tweet, paired with a map of predicted snow totals, he wrote, “Wow!! This just keeps getting better! If you’re a snow lover of course…”

Of course.
