Waves crashed against buildings at Daytona Beach Shores as Hurricane Nicole approached Florida’s east coast on November 9.

Authorities in Daytona Beach issued mandatory evacuation orders for the area, with a curfew in place from 7 pm Wednesday until 7 am Thursday.

Hurricane Nicole made landfall in the Bahamas late Wednesday morning with maximum winds up to 70 mph.
