Get your watch party meals now, these KC restaurants are closing on Super Bowl Sunday

You can feel the excitement in the air as the Chiefs prepare for the Super Bowl on Sunday.

As many bars and restaurants around town are getting ready to host their watch parties, some places are shutting down to let their workers watch the game.

If you’re planning on grabbing something to eat before the big game, you will want to leave the house early.

The following spots will be closed for part or all of Sunday:

Q39

The barbecue spot’s locations in Midtown and Overland Park close at 5 p.m. on Sunday. In a press release, a representative from Q39 said it’s so their team can watch the Chiefs take on the Eagles.

JACK STACK

Every Jack Stack location in the Kansas City area is closed for dining service on Sunday so employees can watch the game. Each site will be open until 5 p.m. for pre-orders.

If you were craving their famous meats or one of their sides, you will have to order carryout.

OLD SHAWNEE PIZZA

Every Old Shawnee Pizza location in Kansas is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday for dine-in and carryout. This is so each employee can watch the game free from distractions.

OAK PARK MALL

The mall in Overland Park announced that it will close at 5 p.m. on Sunday instead of 6 p.m. The mall said department store hours will vary.

CAFE CA PHE

The Columbus Park coffee shop is closing at 5 p.m. on Sunday in anticipation of the big game. They’re offering a special “It’s Giving Football” latte throughout the weekend.

FREDDY’S FROZEN CUSTARD

This fast-food chain said it’s closing all Kansas City-area locations at 4 p.m. on Sunday so employees can watch the game.
