White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre delivered a press briefing Wednesday, a day after Vice President Harris named her running mate.
The update comes as much of the country reacts to the now-complete cast of principal players in a campaign drama no longer featuring President Biden, after Harris and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D) were officially certified by the Democratic Party to lead the ticket Tuesday.
But the to-do list on the Resolute desk remains endlessly long: Responding to ongoing floods in the Southeast brought on by Tropical Storm Debby in the Carolinas, a summer of catastrophic fires in Western states and developments in the war on Ukraine that may include a counteroffensive into Russia, not to mention consumer price inflation hitting parents going back-to-school shopping.
