A look at the Iowa state baseball championship schedules, brackets

The Iowa high school baseball state tournament is split into two locations: Merchants Park in Carroll and Duane Banks Baseball Stadium in Iowa City. Carroll will host the 1A and 2A tournaments, while the 3A and 4A teams will play in Iowa City.

1A state tournament championship schedule for Friday

  • 1-seed Remsen St. Mary's vs. 3-seed New London

The championship game is set for noon Friday.

2A state tournament championship schedule for Friday

  • 2-seed Estherville Lincoln Central vs. 1-seed Van Meter

The championship game is set for 2:30 p.m. Friday.

3A state tournament championship schedule for Friday

  • 1-seed Assumption vs. 2-seed Western Dubuque

The championship game is scheduled for 5 p.m. Friday.

4A state tournament championship schedule for Friday

  • 1-seed Johnston vs. the winner of 6-seed Dowling Catholic

The championship is set for 7:30 p.m. Friday.

How to watch the 2022 Iowa high school baseball state tournament

Mediacom will air all 28 state tournament games.

According to a release from the IHSSN, "games will be aired on select IHSSN cable network and television network affiliates." For specifics, check your local cable and TV listings.

Once again, the Iowa high school state softball tournament will be held at Hazel Rogers Sports Complex in Fort Dodge.

Friday's state championship actions kicks off at 2:30 with the 3A title game. 2A and 1A follow.

3A state tournament schedule for Friday

  • Third-place game: 4-seed Saydel vs. 3-seed Williamsburg

  • Championship: 1-seed Mount Vernon vs 2-seed Assumption

The third-place game will take place on July 22 at 1 p.m. The Class 3A championship game will happen on July 22 at 2:30 p.m.

2A state tournament schedule for Friday

  • Third-place game: 2-seed North Union vs. 1-seed Central Springs

  • Championship: 6-seed Wilton vs. 4-seed Regina Catholic

The third-place game will take place on July 22 at 3:30 p.m. The Class 2A championship game will happen on July 22 at 5 p.m.

1A state tournament schedule for Friday

  • Third-place game: 1-seed North Linn vs. 7-seed Martensdale-St. Mary's

  • Championship: 5-seed Southeast Warren vs. 6-seed Twin Cedars

The third-place game will take play on July 22 at 6 p.m. The Class 1A championship game will happen on July 22 at 7:30 p.m.

5A state tournament result

3-seed Waukee Northwest, in its first state softball tournament appearance, toppled 1-seed Fort Dodge 2-0 in the 5A championship game Thursday evening.

4A state championship result

Winterset claimed the 4A state title with a 3-1 victory over Dallas Center-Grimes Thursday evening.

How to watch the 2022 Iowa high school softball state tournament

According to the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union, the IGHSAU Digital Network will stream all quarterfinal and semifinal games for free. PBS will televise all five championship games.
