New vet clinic, pole dance studio coming to Bellingham as BBQ truck leaves

Kementari’s Creatures, a new exotic pet shop in Bellingham, is having its first Halloween sale. The shop, located at 207 E Chestnut St., expanded into Bellingham in early August.

The store expanded from its original Mount Vernon location. The store offers the sale of tarantulas, reptiles, amphibians, rodents and live insects. Exotic habitat and food supplies are also available for purchase.

Bare Bones Bar B Q announced on its Facebook page that it will be relocating out of state. According to the post, the company has operated for 12 years in Bellingham and will be moving to Pennsylvania.

O-Pole Studios announced its opening of Bellingham’s only dedicated pole dance studio, according to a Facebook post. The studio is located at 4233 Meridian St. and offers a mix of beginner and intermediate classes.

Owners Dar and Alicia have over a decade of group fitness experience between them. In addition, a group of instructors will lead classes through training and specialty classes.

The 1-Up Lounge near Fairhaven celebrated its 5-year anniversary this week with a cosplay contest and drink special. Located at 1121 McKenzie Ave., the cocktail bar offers gaming, pinball and happy hours for patrons.

Comics Place at 105 E Holly St. is celebrating its 40th anniversary with a party Saturday-Sunday, Oct. 1-2, and will feature Back East BBQ. The event will feature comics, games and local creators. Masks are required for attendance.

A coming soon sign on 2210 Rimland Drive, Suite 105, has announced the future opening of a new veterinary practice. Cypress Veterinary Hospital is expected to open this winter, according to its website.

Dr. Maria Baker will be the primary veterinarian. The clinic is not currently accepting appointments, but future patients can sign up for updates on the website.

A new fertility clinic has opened in Bellingham at 1050 Larrabee Ave. Poma Fertility announced the opening of its satellite location offering invitro fertilization with a “personal boutique touch,” according to its website.
