US Marine Corps Battle Color Detachment to give special show at Cary High School

The U.S. Marine Corps Battle Color Detachment will perform at Cary High School on Monday as part of an effort to promote interest in the military.

The Battle Color Detachment — which features “The Commandant’s Own” U.S. Marine Drum and Bugle Corps, the U.S. Marine Corps Silent Drill Platoon, and the Official Color Guard of the Marine Corps — will perform its drill show at 11 a.m.

Following their performance, the band members and drill team will have a “meet and greet” and host an informal clinic with local high school bands and Junior ROTC units.

“Marine Corps Recruiting Station Raleigh is proud to have the Battle Color Detachment in the local area so they can showcase their incredible talents and assist in recruiting and preparing the next generation of Marines,” according to a news release.

Based at the Marine Barracks in D.C., the detachment performs across the world to promote the Marine Corps.

The event is free and open to the public.
