Police chase suspect vehicle after 1 killed, 1 injured in shooting near Fort Worth home

Fort Worth police said they took a suspect into custody Wednesday night after pursuing a vehicle from the scene of a shooting where one person was killed and another victim was injured.

In a 911 call about 4:30 p.m., someone reported that a male victim had been shot near a house in the 1500 block of East Robert Street.

Responding officers found the two victims in a field across the street, Fort Worth police spokesperson Tracy Carter said.

The suspect left the scene in a vehicle, which police spotted on the east side of the city, Carter said. The pursuit ended shortly after 7 p.m.

Multiple police cars were involved in the chase and a helicopter was seen overhead.

Both victims were taken to hospitals, according to MedStar. One died and one was in surgery Wednesday evening, police said.

The names of the victims and the suspect have not been released.
