Two bodies found at multi-million dollar home in Madera. Possible murder-suicide

Madera County Sheriff’s detectives are investigating a possible murder-suicide at a $3.5 million home on Avenue 12 in a rural portion of the county, a spokeswoman confirmed Tuesday evening.

Deputies discovered the bodies of two people at the home in the 33000 block of Avenue 12, between Highway 99 and Madera Ranchos, about 1 p.m.

The spokeswoman, Kayla Gates, confirmed one of the victims was a resident of the home, but she declined to specify the gender or identity of either person.

Detectives combed through the home for hours after the gruesome discovery.

The home and other buildings along with nearly 70 acres of almond trees are for sale.

A woman at the scene who identified herself as a relative to someone who lived at the house declined to comment.

Sheriff Tyson Pogue said he would provide additional details Wednesday morning.
