TikTok star David Allen says his infant daughter died at 5 weeks
TikToker David Allen shares some devastating and heartbreaking news with his followers.
The social media star known as @ToTouchAnEmu announced on TikTok and Instagram that his infant daughter, Lily Grace, died on July 27.
“She was five weeks old, about a week ago, when she passed away at midnight,” Allen said in his video posted Aug. 4. “I have cried every tear I can possibly cry, I think. It’s not easy. I don’t wish this on anybody.”
The grieving father said he “waited a week” to share the news because he “didn’t know how to talk about it.”
“I don’t know what else to say,” he continued, in part, mentioning how people could donate to the Dallas Children’s Hospital in Lily's name. “Or just go hug your little ones, squeeze them tight, for me.”
Allen said that his daughter’s memorial will take place on Aug. 6 in Texas. However, he asked people not to show up if they were not invited.
Allen did not share Lily’s cause of death.
The video is captioned, “Lily Grace Allen ❤️ 6/21/24 — 7/27/24.”
In his Instagram story on Aug. 5, he shared a photo of himself holding the baby with a broken heart emoji. He shared a second photo of just Lily, writing "Daddy will miss you forever baby."
Allen first introduced his little one on June 21, sharing photos of Lily, his wife and him at the hospital.
"Introducing Lily Allen 6-21-24. Will definitely be farming content off my baby sorry in advance," he captioned the post at the time.
He had previously shared another quick update on his baby girl on July 16. In the video, Lily had a pacifier in her mouth as she was being held and seemingly watched “Technology Connections.”
“Her first words gonna be ‘heat pump,’” Allen captioned the clip, while the text on the video read, “Sorry Ms. Rachel, but this is a Technology Connections house.”
Allen, who originally went viral for his drone videos, had recently started posting more content before his daughter's death. Back in May, Allen shared an Instagram video with his followers who were wondering why he hadn't been as active on social media.
Responding to the question, “Where are you?” he shared that he had a couple of health setback, including gaining weight and not liking his appearance in his videos, as well as an ear and sinus infection that resulted in tinnitus and issues with his gallbladder.
In June, he underwent surgery to get his gallbladder removed, according to his Instagram.
Allen did not immediately respond to TODAY.com's request for comment.
