Thrift store to open second location north of Myrtle Beach area. Here’s when

Habitat for Humanity is opening a second ReStore along S.C. 9 near Longs, bringing cheaper items for home building to the area.

The ReStore, located at 2191 East S.C. 9, could open in mid-May, the organization’s Facebook page said in response to questions on its Facebook announcement. Habitat for Humanity said it planned to build a 20,000 square foot facility to help serve more people in Horry County.

Habitat for Humanity sells various items at its ReStore locations, including furniture, paint, doors and building materials. The organizations uses the money it makes to build homes. In 2022, profits from the Socastee ReStore funded the building of three new homes.

The ReStore is currently accepting donations. You can find a list of accepted and not accepted items on the company’s website.
