Texas wide receiver Xavier Worthy set social media afire Saturday with his record-setting 4.21-second time in the 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine.

Visions of Worthy catching Patrick Mahomes’ passes have danced in the heads of Chiefs fans ever since. Receiver is a position of need for the Chiefs, and multiple mock drafts have Worthy going to KC.

Worthy was on “The Rich Eisen Show” and talked Tuesday about how he had met with two dozen NFL teams.

“I had a lot of formal interviews. I feel like I really knocked them out,” Worthy said. “My main goal for interviews was to have teams look at me differently as a football player. I feel like everybody knows I have the speed but I feel like a lot of people don’t know that I have the smarts that come with the speed and the ability to actually do it.”

Worthy said he did showed his smarts while breaking down plays for teams. He explained what every player was supposed to do on each snap, not just the wide receiver.

Eisen asked if Worthy had met with the Chiefs.

“Yes, sir,” Worthy said. “That was actually my first time seeing Andy Reid in person. He looks exactly how he does on TV.”

Everyone laughed at that comment and Eisen asked if Worthy said that very thing to Reid.

“Yeah, I did,” Worthy said. “That was my first time seeing him. I play a lot of Madden, so he looks exactly like he does in Madden. That was crazy.”
